Hayworth and published by Halliwell Local History Society, a history of the Bolton Mother and Child Welfare Association, fomerly Bolton Mothers and Babies Welcome, which began in1908, under the auspices of the Co-operative Guild. The origins of the organisation came about by the visit of Miss Sarah Reddish, then President of the Women's Co-operative Guild to Belgium where she witnessed the work undertaken by Dr Meile who had established a system of support for working mothers.
