Handwritten notes detailing the murder of school teacher Elizabeth Ann Holt, which took place on 10th November 1890 in Longworth Clough. Also provides information on the subsequent murder trial and arrest of Thomas McDonald. McDonald was found guilty of murder at the Liverpool Assizes and hanged at there. The notes are believed to be written by a member of the Holt family possibly Mr Robinson, cousin of Elizabeth Holt, father of Miss A Robinson of Bradshaw, donor of the material.
