This travelling exhibition began at the McKissick Museum from April to mid-June 1988, moving onto several other institutions, finally arriving at the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D. C. in November 1989 to late March 1990. 130 objects in this exhibition were brought together to demonstrate the skills of early artists and craftsmen with the aim of illustrating cultural themes.
