A centenary celebration of the work undertaken by The Egypt Exploration Society. This volume records the achievements of the Society founded by a small group of scholars and amateurs brought together by their concerns regarding the destruction of Egyptian monuments and the lack of properly organised excavations. Originally named The Egypt Exploration Fund, its name changed to Society in 1919.
