Information for this book was taken from a sound cassette Bert Foster recorded for a researcher on Dunkirk and the D Day landings. His sons Michael and Stewart Foster have transcribed the tape and added family photos and historical documents.
Bert was a hairdresser in Bolton continuing in the family business.
